World Animal Protection US’ Statement on Influencer and Baby Wombat

This is animal cruelty for the sake of the likes and clicks. Wombats are not photo props or toys. Taking a wombat from their mother causes severe stress. It’s also dangerous for humans and likely illegal under Australian law. We’re grateful this so-called “wildlife biologist” has been called out for her cruelty. We encourage the Australian authorities to investigate this incident and hold the influencer accountable.
